Job description

Distribusion is the world’s leading ground transportation marketplace and gives travellers seamless access to ground transportation online, from search to ticket purchase. We have built a cutting-edge B2B technology platform that connects bus, rail and ferry operators in 70+ countries with the biggest online retailers including Google Maps and Booking.com.

We are shaping the future of travel and building the largest global network of transport providers and retailers. We are one of the fastest growing startups in travel, backed by leading venture capital investors including TQ Ventures, Lightrock, Creandum, and Northzone, and are headquartered in Berlin, Germany. Following our recent $80m Series C funding, we are ready to push beyond.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. You will play a critical role in supporting our operations in Europe, LATAM, and Asia, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial control across regions. This is a high-impact position handling eight-figure flows globally — ideal for someone eager to combine hands-on execution with strategic oversight.

What you will do:

  • Design and implement a unified accounting framework to align procedures and reporting standards across 6+ entities, enabling streamlined financial consolidation.

  • Set up compliant accounting and tax structures for new entities, ensuring alignment with local regulations while optimizing for operational efficiency.

  • Evaluate and improve automation within our invoicing and payment workflows, introducing scalable systems to streamline day-to-day financial processes.

  • Drive audit and deal readiness by strengthening internal controls, enhancing financial reporting accuracy, and collaborating cross-functionally across teams.

  • Oversee critical accounting functions, including accounts receivable, partner settlements, FX management, payments, and cash flow monitoring.

  • Manage complex financial operations, such as multi-currency transactions, partner discrepancy resolution, audit support, and ERP implementation.

Workplace:

We are looking for this role to be based in Berlin, however, we are also open to a fully remote work setup within Germany.

We are a remote-first company, with teams around the Globe and our HQ office in Berlin, where the team often meets in the office.

Job requirements

Who you are:

  • You hold a top university degree in business administration with a focus on finance/controlling/accounting.

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in financial accounting and controlling, preferably with prior experience in auditing at a top accounting firm.

  • You possess a strong knowledge of German GAAP HGB and IFRS.

  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, and having a knowledge of Datev is an advantage.

  • You are detail-oriented, independent, and have a structured way of working.

  • You have very good communication skills, and the ability to work in a team.

  • You are driven, ambitious, and willing to get hands-on.

  • You show ownership and responsibility for your problem space.

  • You are fluent in English. Other languages is a plus.

What you can expect:

  • You will join a fast-paced travel tech company and take on a rapidly growing industry.

  • You will take on ownership and responsibility from day one and have a direct impact on the success of the company.

  • We value agility! We’re constantly updating our tech stack and offer the best possible tools to ensure all of our in-house engineers, partners, and carriers benefit from cutting-edge, efficient solutions.

  • You will work with global companies. Our product attracts the biggest names in travel technology, such as Booking.com, Google Maps, and national carriers like Amtrak, Deutsche Bahn, Renfe, and SNCF.

  • You will join an international team of talented and driven people with a clear mission. Expect your colleagues to inspire, support and challenge you every day.

  • We offer flexible and remote working conditions, relocation opportunities, and career growth in a small and developing company.
